Last Sunday, 13th May, we had the honour of celebrating the annual competition in aid of APASA. This is an event that on this occasion gained the support of 43 players, all of them members and good friends of the Club.  The weather also played its part, offering clear skies and spring temperatures that hovered around 20ºC. The primary objective of the day was to raise funds for a fantastic cause;  the protection of homeless animals.  Apasa is an animal protection association located in Javea, which does great work in the support and the shelter of animals in need in various areas of the Costa Blanca. Around 13:30, George Larkin and our Captain, David Wood presented the awards presentation. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a great meal served by the Club house which was followed by various fun activities such as raffles, auctions etc.  All this was enlivened by the great live music of the “OK Band”. Finally, and with the support of their sponsor – “Select Villas”, the event managed to raise the grand figure of 1,717 €.  A success that will undoubtedly go towards helping the lives of so many animals in the area.
