During the first weekend of June, we had the opportunity to celebrate one of our most important competitions of the calendar – the Mens Championship – A total of 17 members attended this event. The first game of the competition began on Saturday at 08.30 in the morning and apart from the inclement weather, all went well. The second game of the competition was held on Sunday at the same time but with clearer skies although the players had to deal with the high humidity settling on the course and the occasional puddle in the bunkers due to the rain of the previous day. At around 1pm, the Captain, David Wood, together with George Larkin began the awards presentation. The third place went to Patrick Shortt with an accumulated score of 145 points ( 75 on the first day and 70 on the second). Second place went to Milan Dikken with an accumulated score of 131 points ( 65 on the first day and 66 on the second). And finally in first place and winning the most prestigious cup of the Championship 2018 was Peter Boydell, thanks to a fantastic result of 129 accumulated points ( 62 on the first day and 67 on the second). Here we see him posing happily with his new trophy. Congratulations!
